Tadao Ando and Le Corbusier:
exhibition graphic design
Tadao Ando and Le Corbusier presented the work of these internationally recognized architects within a widely publicized new museum designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Both the museum and exhibition received international press, including Architectural Record, the New York Times, and many others.
The identity, exhibition graphics, and communications materials provide interpretation for this complex inaugural exhibition, while translating the poetry of the museum’s architecture. We took inspiration from each architect’s poetic dialogue with the natural materials of light, wind, and sky, as well as their use of concrete. We tried to celebrate stillness and solidity through a strong use of absence and uppercase letters; while gracefully organizing a wide variety of materials within a dense exhibition.
