UIC College of Architecture, Design, and
the Arts: visual identity program
In 2013 UIC’s College of Architecture and the Arts reorganized to become the College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts. This senior capstone professional practice course had historically tackled complex problems — including redesigning the county’s voting system — and this year was no different. Students spent a semester researching, ideating, and developing schematic design for a new college identity, and a second semester developing the design of identity tools, stationery suites, and publication prototypes. Studio Blue refined and developed the system, which was applied to web, environmental, and print communication throughout the college and its schools.
